She was predeceased by: her parents, James W. Smith Jr. and Elizabeth Smith (Kennedy); her husband William Hathaway; and her siblings, James Wilison Smith III and Phyllis W. Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Clayton Hathaway, MD (Elizabeth) of Fort Wayne, Richard Henry Hathaway (Sara) of Auburn and Peter Winslow Hathaway of Auburn; her grandchildren, Andrew Hathaway, Greg Hathaway, Matthew Hathaway, Will Hathaway (Beth), Madison Green (Andrew), Meagan Hathaway and Mackenzie Hathaway; her great grandchild Eleanor Grace Green; her siblings, Stephen Smith of Radnor, PA and Elizabeth "Betsy" Muldrow of Denver, CO; and her sisters-in-law, Carol Hathaway of Auburn, Kristi Hathaway of Minneapolis, MN, Margaret "Peggy" Lieb of Auburn and Caro Smith.
