As Thomas departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Thomas may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Thomas leaves behind.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Poinsett and Ruth Poinsett (Davis); and his brother-in-law Vincent Slater. He is survived by : his daughters, Kim Scott of Georgetown and Michelle Martin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister Shirley Slater of Fort Wayne; and his brother-in-law Ronald Steele of Fort Wayne.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (1801 N Main St, Auburn, IN 46706).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in memory of Tom to Trinity Lutheran Church.
