In loving memory of Waneta Nelson of Auburn, Indiana, who departed this world on December 2, 2025 at the age of 104. Waneta leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Sharp and Erma Sharp; her husband Louis I. Nelson; her daughters, Sally Lou Naylor and Anne Louise Nelson; and her siblings, Donald Sharp, Doris Strock and Sandra Sharp.
She is survived by: her caregiver Stephen Louis Nelson of Auburn; her daughter Marianne Neal (Joey) of Blackstock, SC; her grandchildren, Gina Reese of Indianapolis, Matthew Lockman (Deana) of Prospect, KY and Kate Basti (Eric) of Columbus, OH; and her brother Alvin Sharp. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home (1860 S Center St, Auburn, IN 46706). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Bible Society or Paralyzed Veterans of America in her honor.
