She was predeceased by: her parents, Sanford Chidester and Viola Mae Chidester (Collins); her siblings, Theodore, Hartzel, Gene, Jerrel Chidester, Gladys Campbell, Mildred Scott and Shirley Powers; and her granddaughter Gina Bridgewater.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Clair Bennett; her children, Debra Selke (Michael) of Scottsburg, IN and Michael V. Bennett of Austin, IN; and her brother Basil Chidester (Sue) of Rock Cave, WV..
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory (138 Westavia Blvd, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery (6240 N Bogardus Rd, Austin, IN 47102).
