Though Joe may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joe touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Otto Day and Gladys Day (Vanscoy); and his sister Louise Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Debra Kay Day (Lewis); his son Joseph Shawn Day (Lisa) of Greenwood, Indiana; his stepchildren, Roy Barrett of Scottsburg, Indiana and Janis Barrett-Claxton (Aaron) of Morristown, Tennessee.; and his grandchildren, Joseph Shawn Day, Jr. and Shana Day of North Vernon. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, as well as several step-great-grandchildren.
