He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Smith; his children, Chanda Darleen Smith of Arizona, Kasey Gunter of Lexington and Richard Aaron Smith of Texas; his sisters, Shirley Thomas Glenna (Robert) and Juanita Watts; his siblings-in-law, Mike Stamper and Sherry Smith; and his grandchildren, Rowan Dallas, Roselynn Jane, Lillian Kay, Matthew G. Scott and Kasen Owen.
