We are sad to announce that, on January 5, 2026, at the age of 79, Rita J. Castillo (Austin, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Orlando Santore and Josephine Santore (Ventureno); her husband Daniel Castillo; and her siblings, Charlies, Frank, William Santore, Patricia Mendez, Francis Colon and Mary Doarty.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Doerr (Lima) of Philadelphia, PA, Richard Doerr (Missy) of Newark, Delaware, Ronald Doerr (Linda) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Daniel Doerr of Pelzer, SC, Randy Ramos of Philadelphia, PA and Addison Castro of Philadelphia, PA.; and her brother Orlando Jim Santore of Chesapeake, VA.. She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials can be made to American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg, Indiana in care of Buchanan Funeral Home.
