Sam Ridener Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sam Ridener of Austin, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 31, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Sam is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Sam's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ridener and Mary Proffitt Ridener; and his siblings, Harold Ridener, Jim Ridener and Sue Case.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ridener; his stepson Greg Richey; his brother Don Ridener; and his daughter Carol Jones.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home (465 W McClain Ave, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be given in Sam's memory to the Sons of the Legion, Post 234 or Amedisys Hospice.
