He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin Whonsetler and Mary Whonsetler (Simon); his wife Mary VanGorder; his daughter Vicki Martin; his grandson Jeb Smith; and his brother Tom Whonsetler.
He is survived by: his children, Stan Whonsetler (Lana) of Avilla and Kathleen Smith (Jeffery) of Kendallville; his grandchildren, Angelia Clark (Deron), Matthew Whonsetler, Heather Mary Smith and Jeffrey Smith Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Dathan Clark, Davis Clark and Knox Smith.
