He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Shank and Irene Shank (Moran); his wife Beverly Shank; his siblings, Cecil Shank, Kenneth Shank, Tommy Shank, William Shank, Myrtle Secrist, Wilma Hess, Marcille Woodbury, Ara Jean Knapp, Jerron Edsall and Bernice Shank; and his brother-in-law Eugene Ries.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Shank (Tamara) of Avilla, Pat Shank (Donna) of Avilla and Darcy Taylor (Marty) of Sandpoint, Idaho; and his siblings, John Shank (Kay) of St. Joe, Indiana, Fay Ann Ries of LaOtto and Julia Snyder (Ed) of Hicksville, Ohio.
Contributions in Sam's memory may be directed to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, of a charity of the donor's choice.
