He was predeceased by: his parents, William Weigel and Mary Weigel (Tekulve); his wife Margie Braunagel; his son William Weigel (Bill); his grandson Andrew Craig; his son-in-law Edward Tuggle; his siblings, Sylvan, William, Leon, Bernice Huneke, Hilda Weinkamp, Martha Weigel, Romilda Funk, Agnes Gauck, Irene Willian and Marianne Kennelly; Daniel Weigel.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Tuggle of Topeka, KS, Sue Ann (Michael Williams), Mary Beth (Timothy Callahan) and Greg; his daughter-in-law Teresa Weigel of Oldenburg, IN; and his sister-in-law Karen Weigel of Greensburg, IN. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Weigel Funeral Home (151 W George St, Batesville, IN 47006). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Louis Church (13 St Louis Pl, Batesville, IN 47006).
Memorials can be made to the Batesville Fire and Rescue and the Sisters of Saint Francis in Oldenburg, IN.
