He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Puente and Mabel Puente (Baker); his wife Edna Puente; his brother Charlie Puente; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Nicholas; and his great grandchild Tucker.

He is survived by : his children, Linda Schomber (Jim), Tony Puente (Ginger), Scott Puente (Cindy) and Todd Puente (Mindy); and his grandchildren, Casey, Jacob, Justin, Jenna, Jeff, Evan, Morgan, Billie, Tyler and Levi. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
