He was predeceased by : his parents, Louise Swain and Charles Swain; his wife Wanda Lee Deffner; and his sister Mary Gretchen Weigel. He is survived by : his children, Cheryl Swain of Napoleon and Gary Swain of Oldenburg; and his sister Linda Pulskamp of Batesville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family requests memorials to the Eagle Fire Company or the Napoleon Fire Department.
