She was predeceased by: her parents, George Hitchcock and Ernestine Hitchcock (Blackburn); her husband Norman E. Abel; her son Jeffrey D. Fields; and her siblings, Donald, Thomas, George, John Hitchcock, Nadine Hendershot and E. Joan Griffith.
She is survived by: her children, Michael E. Fields (Juanita) of Springville and Carrie Bunch (Ed) of Spencer. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes (818 18th St, Bedford, IN 47421). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
