He was predeceased by: his parents, Wanetta Marie Hodson (Fear) and Jonathan Paul Hodson; his siblings, Arliss Jean Richardson (Howard), Janet Sue Thomas (Jacob), Monelle Eileen Ragan (Charles Edward), Paul Lee Roy Hodson, Larry Eugene Hodson and James Hodson; his half-sisters, Elberta "Peg" Teel, Berniece Small and Thelma "Phoebe" Small; and his brother-in-law John Van Wezel.
He is survived by: his sister Kitty May Van Wezel; and his half-sister Waunitta "Brownie" Winters.
