He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Hackney and Eula Hackney (Nowling); and his siblings, Betty Horner, Genevieve Thompson and Billie Hackney.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ray of Fort Ritner; his children, Sherry Hackney, Nickie Hackney, Daryl Hackney (Susie) and Troy "Hersh" Hackney (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Amber of Devin, DJ, Mackenzie, Jason, Haley, Tiffany, Chelsey, Gary and Kristy. He is also survived by twenty four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Dixon Chapel Cemetery.
