He was predeceased by: his parents, Zachariah Elliott and Edith Fern Elliott (Clark); and his siblings, John Elliott, Herb Elliott, Benny Elliott, Jim Elliott, Dave Elliott, Howard, Larry Elliott and Mary Alice Aliano.

He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Sohn Elliott (Sherri) of Bedford and Thomas Stephen Elliott (Laura) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Elliott, Hannamarie York (Matt), Olivya Elliott, Christina Curry (Steven), Nicholas Elliott and Ashley Bradley (Cole); and his great grandchildren, Ashlynn York, Jaxon York and Joelle Curry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
