Lois Hillenburg Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Hillenburg of Bedford, Indiana, who passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Rife and Della Rife (Eads); her husband Galis Hillenburg; her daughter Carla Hakes; and her siblings, Boyd Rife, Betty Petty, Jack Rife, Carol Cain, Sonny Rife, Sheila Hogan and Brenda Eads.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Vaughn (David) and Dennis Hillenburg (Barbara Bartlett); her sister Sue Martin (Kelsie); her grandchildren, Michael Vaughn (Danielle), Brandon Hillenburg (Crystal) and Summer Thomas (Dave); and her great grandchildren, Meadow Vaughn, Addison Hillenburg, Alexis Hillenburg, Ella Thomas and Josh Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois's memory may be made to the Smithville Christian Church Building Fund, 7280 S. Fairfax Road, Bloomington, IN 47401.
