He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Smith and Fannie Smith (Fennig); his wife Helen Marie Smith (Henning); and his siblings, Betty Thrall and Hugh Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Karyn Price, John Smith (Maurya), Diane Smith, Dan Smith (John McAninch) and Andrew Smith (Jane); his grandchildren, Tiffany Anderson (Cameron), Samantha Wellman (Billy), Zachary Smith (Heather), Taylor Smith (Mason Patterson) and Blair Hiestand (Rhett); and his great grandchildren, Brecken Anderson, Zayden Anderson, Calvin Laughlin, Winnie Laughlin, Emmett Anderson, Bo Wellman, Baker Wellman, Pennie Wellman, Raegan Smith, Brooklynn Patterson, Baby Patterson, Maverick Hiestand and Maggie Hiestand. He is also survived by one nephew and two nieces.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (630 R St, Bedford, IN 47421). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
