She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Helmbrecht and Agnes Helmbrecht (Schrader); her husband Lavere Dean Stroud; her brother Robert Helmbrecht; and her half-sister Donna Holley.

She is survived by: her children, Scott Stroud (Laura) of Bedford, David Stroud (Dwayne Holloway) of Raleigh, NC and Sherri Stroud of Bedford; her grandchildren, Ryan Stroud (Barbara) of Indianapolis and Jami Stroud; her great grandchildren, Darcy of Indianapolis, Lauryn of Indianapolis and Henry Stroud of Indianapolis; and her brother Randall Helmbrecht (Linda) of Seymour.
