He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Frederick Solmer and Elfriede Solmer Klockow (Nandzik). He is survived by: his wife Carol Solmer of Berne, Indiana; his children, Julie Solmer Stine (Mark) of Cypress, Texas, Natalie Solmer (Ceyon Beckford) of Speedway, Indiana and Scott Solmer (Junko) of Clover; his grandchildren, Bram Stine, Kymani Beckford, Brodie Stine, Alleon Beckford and Alec Solmer; his stepchildren, Francesco Cutugno of Mishawaka, Indiana, Christina Cutugno of Mishawaka, Indiana, Randy Veach (Teresa) of Avon, Indiana, Mick Veach (Melanie) of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Missy Fox (Dave) of Monroe, Indiana; and his brothers, Henry Solmer (Sue Sanger) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota and Richard Solmer (Paula) of Sunset Beach, California.. He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bridge Community Church (406 E Parr Rd, Berne, IN 46711).
Preferred memorials can be given to the Adams County Community Foundation – Dementia Fund.
