He was predeceased by: his son Shannon Gray. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Velasquez (Lydy); his children, Darrell Velasquez Jr. of Warsaw, Shawn Velasquez (Missy) of Bluffton and Karie Velasquez of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Jeff, Natthan, Leah Velasquez, Myles Velasquez, Layne and Kale Seslar; his great grandchild Nikolai Riley; and his siblings, Virginia Smith (Steve) of Carlisle, KY, Mark Gray (Terri) of Arizona and Patrick Gray (Penny) of Michigan.
A graveside service was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (3215E State Rd 124, Bluffton, IN 46714).
