She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Wendell Niewald; her parents, James Swanay and Lela Robertine Swanay; and her sisters, Dorothy Ellen Swanay and Mary Jane Conrad.
She is survived by: her son Paul W. Niewald (Cynthia Niewald); her granddaughters, Emily Niewald and Katy Clark; her great grandchildren, Nara, Siona, Rumy and Sylvia; her brother James Swanay, Jr.; and her nieces and nephews, Karen Pieper, Linda Strain, David Conrad and James Swanay, III.
