He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Mathews and Bernice Ingersoll Helderman; his grandparents, Jesse and Daisy Miller Ingersoll; his wife Laura Mathews; and his children, Diane Getchell Pahmeier and Jessie Mathews.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bob" Getchell, Ralph Getchell (Debbie), Jeanne Hoffman (Dewayne) and Janet Deuber (Michael); his son-in-law Arthur Pahmeier; and his brother Robert Helderman. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his memory are requested to the Bicknell Methodist Church.
