He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Preston Dixon and Dorothy Virginia Bott Dixon; his siblings, Betty Guthrie (Kenny), June Hayes (Robert) and Bobby Dixon; his siblings-in-law, Elbert "Mike" McClure, Gordon McClure (Catherine) and Judith R. McClure Wakefield; and his nephew Kenny Wayne Guthrie, II.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth McClure Dixon of Bloomington, Indiana; his children, Robin Malwitz (Jeff) of Martinsville, Tracie Richardson (Jay) of Ellettsville, Indiana, Charles William "Bill", Jr. (Jessica) of Springville and Chuck Barnes (Margie) of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Maranda (Joey), Chelsea, Emma (Kramer), Elizabeth, Wesley (Kara), Jacob, Sean, Derek, Alex and Austin; and his sisters-in-law, Helen McClure of Vevay and Ruthie Dixon of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
