He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hartman Sr. and Eulah Hartman (Hatton); his son Tim Hartman; and his brother Melvin Hartman. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hartman (Eads) of Bloomington; and his children, Eulah Jans of Ellettsville, Jeff Hartman of Bloomington, Steve Hartman of Quantico, VA and Vicki Southern of Bloomington. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
