Frances Jean Shields Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frances Jean Shields of Bloomington, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 8, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Shields; her parents, Merl Emmons and Roberta Emmons; and her son-in-law Alan Macy. She is survived by: her daughters, Angela Macy of Gosport and Tami Shields Silverman; her son-in-law Ross Silverman of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Emily Macy, Ethan Macy, Miranda Silverman and Maxwell Silverman; and her sisters, Linda Self (Eddie) of Shoals, Judy Simpson (Kelly) of Georgetown and Sheila Merlene Wright (Randy) of Ellettsville. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
In 1998, she was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in recognition of her service to education.
