He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Karnes and Merle Karnes (Briggs); and his brother Greg Karnes. He is survived by: his wife Joan Ray-Karnes (Medaris); his nephew Josh Karnes (Heather); his great-nephews, Adam and Evan; his niece Ashley Karshen (Josh); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma, Aubrey, Quinn and Beckett.
