James Anderson Brewer Obituary

James Anderson "Jim" Brewer, 59, of Bloomington passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

He was born on January 9, 1963 in Palm Beach, Florida the son of Ivan Earl and Glenna (Colby) Brewer. Jim was a 1981 graduate of Eastern Greene High School. He married the love of his life, Melissa Joy Mitchell, on February 10, 1984 in Bloomington, Indiana and they were happily married thirty-eight years.

He worked as a project manager for Building Associates in Bloomington since 2012. He had also worked at Deckard Realty and Development for a long period of time in Bloomington, Indiana.

He was a member of the Eagle Pointe Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, long morning walks on the beach, and Colts football. He loved baseball and took great pride in coaching and watching his son play. He especially loved his family and his granddaughters and loved spending time with them. He will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife, Melissa Brewer of Bloomington; his son TJ (Kelly) Brewer of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters Audrina and Corinne Brewer; one brother, John Brewer; one sister Lisa Russell both of Greene County, IN; a nephew, Evan Holmquist and two nieces, Abby (Nick) Karr and Laura Russell; his mother-in-law, Delores Jane Mitchell of Bedford and his sister-in-law Marsha Holmquist of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Glenna Brewer and his Father-in-law Ervine Ray Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday October 1, 2022 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington, with Rev. Kenneth Walden officiating. Burial will follow at the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
