He was predeceased by: his parents, James DeGroote and Martha DeGroote (Kavanaugh); and his sister Carole LeMond. He is survived by: his former wife Catherine A DeGroote (RIchardson) of Elkhart, IN.; his family Dakotah; his daughters, Lauren Stewart (Reid) of Westfield and Catherine "Kate" Schnarr (Rob) of Bloomington; his stepson Zachary Wellman (Jessica) of Bloomington; his stepgrandchildren, Dylan and Kasey Wellman; his grandsons, Brayden Stewart, Preston Stewart and Rowe; and his sisters, Cathy Combs of Florida and Jami Richardson (Mike) of Evansville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
