He was predeceased by: his parents, Harriet Trisler and Gunner Gunnerson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Huffman Gunnerson; his daughters, Debra Dunbar (Ralph) and Lisa Dwyer (Randy); his brother Donald Gunnerson (Clydene); and his granddaughters, Julie Dwyer (Brian), Allison Dunbar and Katie Kinzer (Erin). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Leonard's memory to IU Health Hospice House.
