She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Rothering and Wilma Rothering (Hilgert); her former husband Schuyler Otteson; her husband Frank Jones; and her siblings, Grace Buchmiller, Betty Rosenow, Dale Rothering and Leroy Rothering.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Lawrence, Martha Lubarsky (Tony), Karn Lucero and John Otteson (Liz); her grandchildren, Mike Lubarsky (Marika), Tina Lubarsky, John Lawrence (Carrie), Kenneth Eric Lucero (Carrie), Alex Lucero (Mandy), Kara Lucero, Kristin Golden (Chris), James Otteson (Maria) and Julia Otteson; her sister Sally Rosendahl; and her stepchildren, Fred, Sally, Nancy and Doug.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church (219 E 4th St, Bloomington, IN 47408-3503). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either First United Methodist Church or the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, honoring Marie's lifelong commitment to her faith and education.
