He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Turpin and Mary Turpin (Holland); and his wife Alice Turpin (Wood). He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Gries (Patrick), Denise Parrish and Dee Dee Turpin; his grandchildren, Troy Gries, Gwen Bernal, Ryan Parrish, Brian Gries and Stacy Shellhaas; and his brother Donald Turpin. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
