He is survived by: his wife Julie Sowerwine; his children, Dr. Richard Hammel (Marcie) and Jane Priest (Fred); his granddaughters, Mackenzie Hammel (Reza Ghoorkhanian), Cameron Hammel and Boston; his stepgranddaughters, Stephanie Hubbard (Jason) and Stacy Larison (Matt); and his brother William Hammel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Powell (3000 E 3rd St, Bloomington, IN 47401). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
