He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Fender and Dorotha Mae Sims (Miller); his son Sean Lee Sims; and his brother-in-law Everett Kyser, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Jean Egelston; his daughters, Sherry Young (Dave) of Bloomington, IN and Cindy Tirey (Mark) of Bloomington, IN; his grandchildren, Natalie, Sean Young, Aleksander, Clara Jane and Wesley Tirey; and his sister Barbara Kyser of Greenfield, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
