He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Briles (Shoufler) and William Edgar Briles; his siblings, Harold, Bill and Carole; and his former wife Helen Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Lorna Briles (Chandler); his children, David (Rickie Anderson) and Deborah Howard; his granddaughter Brittany Moser; and his great grandchildren, Ava Moser and Everett Moser.
