He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman Gonterman and Louise Gonterman (Ramsey); his son Wendell "Scott" Gonterman; his siblings, Mary Lou Priest, Robert Gonterman, Norman Gonterman and Patricia Hash; and his siblings' children, Greg Fleener, Lougenia Hottell, Danny Hash and Kelli Gonterman Wilkes.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Gonterman (May); his daughter Tonya Herring; his grandchildren, Zachary Herring (Lauren May) and Breanna Herring Stevens (Tim); his sisters, Sandra Carrell (Butch) and Ann Britton (Fred); and his siblings' children, Lori Finch, Mark Carrell, Sonya Wykoff and Rick Britton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crossroads Community Church (5000 IN-37, Bedford, IN 47421). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Valhalla Memory Gardens (310 N Johnson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404).
