He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Holmes, Jr. and Edna H. Holmes (Johnson); his son Timothy D. Holmes; his granddaughters, Sara Elaine Holmes and Gabrielle Diane Holmes; and his siblings, Dewayne "Pete" Holmes and Patricia "Pat" Borror.
He is survived by: his children, Terry D. Holmes (Joyce) of Churubusco, IN, Carey L. Holmes (Susan) of Fort Wayne, Jeffrey L. Holmes (Bobbi Dent) of Fort Wayne, Pamela S. Bober (Dennis) of Tampa, FL, Kevin L. Holmes (Janis) of Bluffton and Robin K. Holmes (Denette) of Bluffton. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
