He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Pfeifer and Alma Pfeifer (Leopold); his wife Patricia Ann Pfeifer; his children, Lisa Ewald and Richard Pfeifer; his daughter-in-law Lisa Pfeifer; and his siblings, Lyle Pfeifer, Delores Bilsborough, Ivan Pfeifer, Ken Pfeifer and Elaine Griglione.
He is survived by: his children, David Pfeifer (Heidi Barnes) of Columbia, SC. and Jennifer Esmond (Ben Cruz) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Ryne Pfeifer of Fishers, IN., Andrew Ewald (Jordan), Kyle Pfeifer (Dafne) of Chatham, IL., Justin Ewald (Jonica) of Grimes, IA., Conner Esmond of Bluffton, Madison Brakefield (Carter) of Charleston, SC., Matthew Ewald (Amanda), Olivia Esmond (Taylor Gonzales) of Bluffton, Grant Esmond of Fort Hood, TX. and Monica Brown (Jarod); his great grandchildren, Logan, Isabella Pfeifer, Storm Selking (Caleb) and Colton Brown; his sister Marilyn Den Hartog of Madison, WI.; and his children-in-law, David Ewald (Claudia) and Jacie Pfeifer of Bluffton.
