He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer D. Smeltzer and Betty Jane Smeltzer (August); his wife Cathy Ann (Clanin); and his sisters, Iris Stultz, Carolyn Smeltzer and Margene McGahey.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Smeltzer (Heather) of Bluffton, Joseph Smeltzer (Andrea) of Roanoke and Michelle Chambers (Lee) of White House, TN; and his siblings, Jane Bennett of Uniondale, IN and David Smeltzer (Betty) of Michigan. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five grt. grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel (3220 IN-124 #90, Bluffton, IN 46714). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
