She was predeceased by : her parents, Earl E. Adkins and Flora W. Adkins (Geiger); and her siblings, Richard Adkins and Elaine Boyle. She is survived by : her husband Billy E. Brown; her sons, Paul Shoemaker (Dana) of Greenwood, IN., Craig Shoemaker (Cara) of Russiaville, IN., Matt Shoemaker (Ashlee) of Bluffton and Josh Shoemaker (Jessica) of St. Louis, MO.; her brother Gerald Adkins of California; and her niece Sherri Zook of Bluffton. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel (3220 IN-124 #90, Bluffton, IN 46714). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
