She was predeceased by: her parents, Dwight Shady and Mae Seyfert (Heller); her husband Linus R. Gerber; her sisters, Linda Gearhart and Marcia Blair; her half-brother Todd Garvin; and her stepmother Dorothy Shady.
She is survived by: her children, Jackie Jenkins of Ossian, Jill Middaugh (Mark) of Auburn and Jarrod Gerber (Amy) of Bluffton; her grandchildren, Chad Jenkins (Lindsey), Benjamen Jenkins (Jordann), Megan Middaugh, Jacob Middaugh (Leena), Bradley Middaugh (Samantha Onesti), Isaac Gerber, Caleb Gerber and Audrey Gerber; her sisters, Sally Gomez of Fort Wayne and Terri Worden (Gary) of Brownsburg; and her half-brother Scott Garvin of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
