He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Russell Payne and Gwen Payne (Sommers); and his siblings, Ronald Payne, Virginia Hartman and Carol Fiechter.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Payne of Bluffton; his son Reid Payne (Angie) of Martinsville; and his granddaughters, Brianna and Morgan Payne.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to Stability First in Martinsville and may be directed though the funeral home.
