He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Harter and Maxine Harter (Garton); his wife JoAnn Baumgartner; his daughter Becky Love; and his siblings, William "Bill", Jack, Mike Harter, Janice King and Pat Mertz.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra O'Dell (Mike) of Berne and Sally Bailey (Jeff) of Plant City, FL; his sister Betty Dellinger of Ft. Wayne; and his grandchildren, Jessie O'Dell (Jaci), Jeffery Love (Erica), Jarvis Love, Jagger Love, Douglas Bennett and Jessica Bailey (Brian). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wells County Youth Sports in care of the Mental Attitude Award or the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
