He was predeceased by : his mother Hazel Barkdull-Jones (Purvis); his son Richie Barkdull; and his brothers, Jack E. C. Barkdull and Allen Barkdull. He is survived by : his father P. P. Whitey Barkdull; his wife Rebecca "Bekkee" of Bluffton; his children, Randy Barkdull of DeFuniak Springs, FL., Chris Overmier-Barkdull of Lafayette and Faith Wyatt (Trent); his grandson Brady Thomas Mills-Overmier; his siblings, Pete Barkdull (Barb) of Hartford City, Mike Barkdull of Ruskin, FL., Joe Barkdull of Anderson, Jeff Barkdull (Lora) of Hartford City, Vickie Towne of Tampa, FL., Pennie Weatherly (Melvin) of Marion and Jennie Gothrup of Noblesville; and also Chrissy Mills of Lafayette. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lemler Funeral Home (308 W Washington St, Bluffton, IN 46714). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to benefit Parkinson's Research, St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the family.
