He was predeceased by: his parents, Adley Ray and Margaret Hames (Montgomery); his granddaughter Brittney Seipert; and his siblings, Frank Shiver, Kenneth Hames, Edna Majors and Alice Schroeder.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Hames; his children, Emily Seipert (Rick), Lorri Wiederkehr (Mike), Wade Hames (Mary) and Craig Hames; his grandchildren, Ashley Brendel, Holly Hames, Josh Hames, Katie Wiederkehr and Sarah Wiederkehr; his great grandchildren, Jaylen, Adley and Kash Brendel; and his siblings, Steve Hames, David Hames and Shirley Pace.
