He was predeceased by: his parents, William Taft and Mary Taft (Reynolds); his wife Leona Mae Taft; his siblings, Dewey, Earl, Bill, Ed (Glenn) and Zoe (Dale); and his great grandchildren, Zeric Gale and Baby Elder.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laurie Cooper (Larry) and Lisa Taft; his granddaughters, Sherry McGinnis (Tommy), Mindy Elder (Becky) and Crystal Young (Shawn); his great grandchildren, T. J. McGinnis (Haley), Briana McGinnis, Alexis Studstill (Logan), Max McGinnis, Landyn Whiddon, Amari Goodman, Cory Young and Brody Young; and his great great grandchild Evelyn Mae. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Koehler Funeral Home (304 E Main St, Boonville, IN 47601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
