He was predeceased by : his parents, Ella Pearl Chumbley Barnett and Robert Carlisle Barnett Sr.; and his brother Herbert. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Barnett; his children, William of Portland and Lana Barnett Greear of Hubbard; his sons-in-law, Daryl Geraci of Portland and Adam Greear of Hubbard; and his grandchildren, Addison and Avery Greear of Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Warrick County Humane Society.
