She is survived by : her children, Jeffrey Hurst (Gina) of Borden and Pamela Hurst (Steve) of Brownsville; her sister Carol Sparkman of New Albany, Indiana.; her grandchildren, Joshua Hurst (Heather) of Pekin, Monica Ratliff (Jason) of Crestwood, Bradley Meredith (Nicole) of Brownsville, Kimberly Jaggers (Richie) of Bowling Green, Scotty Hurst (Megan) of Pekin, Jennifer Nicks (Travis) of Pekin and JoAnna Davis (Leroy) of Seymour; and her great grandchildren, Hailey Hurst of Pekin, Kate Hurst of Pekin, Lucas Ratliff of Crestwood, Cooper Ratliff of Crestwood, Riley Ratliff of Crestwood, Aidan Meredith of Brownsville, Corbin Jaggers of Bowling Green, Sadie Jaggers of Bowling Green, Norah Hurst of Pekin Indiana, Tucker Hurst of Pekin Indiana, Treven Nicks of Pekin Indiana, Brody Nicks of Pekin, Hattie Nicks of Pekin, Delsa Nicks of Pekin, Corbyn Davis of Seymour and Caylin Davis of Seymour, Indiana..

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at the Daisy Hill Cemetery.

Per Shirley's wishes, Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Jude children's research Hospital (501 Saint Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105).
