He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Petill and Arabelle Petill (Tackett); his siblings, Eugene "Sonny" Petill, Delores Sprinkle, Mary McDaniel and Eulalie "Tula" Hoesel; his granddaughter Jessica; his great grandchild Hunter; and his son-in-law Pete Sechrist.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Petill; his sister Marilyn Keith-Berkley (John); his children, Cami Gantt, Joni Kurtz (Dave), Lori Sechrist, Shelli Weldy, Marilyn Oliver (John), Emily Muckleroy (Mark) and Jack Kibort (Shirley); and his grandchildren, Katy DeMetz, Pamela Jones, Kevin Wurtsbaugh, Kelly Cutler (Clinton), Tracy Gantt, Holly Gantt, Mindy Wilson (Brandon), Alisha Sauls, Alison Geyer (Toby), Andrea Sechrist, Teri Taylor (Joshua), Patricia Johnson (John) and Robert Holderread. He is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 S Main St, Bourbon, IN 46504). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local hospice care center of your choice in Roger's memory.
